President Kennedy challenged Americans to achieve something that was not easy to do. No man had set foot on the moon. To achieve this they had to create new technologies and equipments.
As he pointed out it was not because the challenge was easy as it was clearly not but because it was hard. They stretched themselves technologically until they achieved their aim.
