Cool AdThrive Facts And AdThrive Alternatives

AdThrive is perhaps the most loved of all the ad networks out there for the big-time bloggers and content creators. In fact, there are very few alternatives to AdThrive worth their salt.

AdThrive is the brainchild of blogger Kelly Marzka and her husband who established this ad optimization network and digital publishing company in 2013. They established it with the aim of helping content creators to increase their ad revenue

I first came across AdThrive not long ago when I was searching if there are any Adsense alternatives out there. To be very honest I was not expecting to find a better alternative to Adsense so I was pleasantly surprised that AdThrive pays better.

When I started blogging the only big guy in town when it came to pay-per-click ads was Google Adsense. There ware others like Infolinks but you only went to them if you had been banned or rejected by Google Adsense.

AdThrive is a Google Certified Publisher partner and in fact, rely on Google for most of their ads.

This also means that they are supposed to abide by Google policies and requirements for Google Certified Publish partners. Otherwise, they will lose their status.

Therefore if your site does not meet Google requirement, then you won’t be admitted into this network.

What Is AdThrive’s Revenue Share Model?

AdThrive pays its publishers 75% of the ad revenue they make on their sites. They keep the remaining 25 percent which they use to cover their administration expenses. Creating blog posts takes time so it nice to have someone pay you handsomely.

AdThrive Requirements

In order to be accepted into the AdThrive program, a site must meet all the requirements that will be presented below.

  • A site must have Google Analytics installed and running. And AdThrive will request permission to access it and confirm that the site is getting a minimum of 100,000 pageviews a month.
  • AdThrive also requires that a majority of your traffic must be from the United States. This is because most of their adverts are those that target Americans.
  • Your site must not have advertising infringements and blacklisted by Google or other ad providers. Therefore if you have been rejected by Google Adsense, you will not be admitted to this network. This is because most of their adverts are from Google Adsense and therefore cannot be accepted on a site that does not meet Google requirements.
  • Your site must have quality and original content that satisfies users and advertisers. No advertiser wants their ads to be shown on a site that has poor quality posts or some dodgy and illegal stuff.

AdThrive And Its Alternatives

AdThrive Alternatives

if your site is averaging 100,000 page views per month then I would definitely not consider any AdThrive alternatives for ads. They are simply ahead of the pack for most niches.

Only consider those alternatives if for whatever reason you cannot meet AdThrive requirements. And it is obvious that the majority of blogs cannot their requirements.

To reach a !00,000 pageviews requires consistency and discipline that most bloggers do not possess. There are so many bloggers out there that have been blogging on an off and are still struggling to even reach 10000 page views per month.

Below are some alternatives to AdThrive that you can consider.

1. Mediavine

Mediavine is smaller than AdThrive but excels AdThrive for some niches. Even for the other niches, there is not much of a difference in the income you will make.

In my opinion and I believe that of may blogger, Mediavine and AdThrive are at the moment the best out there in terms of pay per click ads.

Mediavine among other things offers display ad optimization, video monetization, and sponsored influence marketing.

Besides the usual quality content requirements, Mediavine requires that your site should be attracting at least 50000 sessions per month. This is usually equivalent to 60000 pageviews and all this has to be according to Google Analytics.

Further to be accepted into Mediavine, you need to be in good standing with Google Adsense. I guess this is because they are a Google Certified Publisher Partner and as such, they have to abide by Google’s policies.

2. Ezoic

If you cannot mee the traffic requirement of AdThrive and Mediavine then, in my opinion, you should consider Ezoic.

Ezoic Requirements

In order to be accepted by Ezoic, your site must be receiving at least 10,000 visits per month.

You will, therefore, have to provide them with read-only access to your Google Analytics for them to confirm this.

Ezoic also prefers information, content-rich sites. Therefore if your site is thin on content and predominantly corporate or e-commerce you may not be admitted into their network.

The other requirements all involve issues about the quality of your site.

For example, your content needs to be original, and no offensive or adult materials are accepted.

They also do not accept sites that offer alcohol, tobacco, and healthcare-related content.

3. Adsense

If for some reason you cannot meet the requirement of the above top three then I am afraid you have to stick with Google Adsense.

The above there all use Google Adsense ads but they optimize them in such a way that you publishers end up making more money.

So in the meantime, you can stay with Google Adsense while you work at increasing your traffic levels.

The surest way for me is to focus on content and not link building as others do. Link building can work but it is risky and can easily get you into trouble with Google.

There are people like the ones at Income School who have been building sites that hit $10,000 a month consistently without building sites. They focus on content and over time traffic increases and as a consequence gets more backlinks naturally too.

Adsense Requirements

The requirements for joining Google Adsense are not as clear cut as the ones for the networks above. Unfortunately, you need to meet Adsense requirements to be accepted by the networks above.

I will try to present the Adsense requirments based on my experience.

  • It looks like nowadays, you need at least 60 posts to be accepted. When I started blogging you could be accepted by Adsense with as little as 10 posts.
  • Your site must have original, high-quality content that attracts an audience. So if your site is full of copied content from other sites you will need to revise it. From my experience, it also looks like they want long-form content, though I could be wrong here. They also prefer content in the major languages of the world that match what their advertisers are looking for. Therefore if you are writing in a language that is spoken by very few people, you may not be considered. I have a site that is written in an African language that has yet to be accepted by Google Adsense.
  • From my experience, Google Adsense has no traffic requirements.i have successfully applied for AdSense for sites getting 10 or so visitors per day. As long as you are producing quality content, you are good to go.
  • Limit affiliate links in your content before applying. If your site is deemed to be only after promoting affiliate stuff it won’t be accepted. Not that they are just against affiliate sites but they want content that is offering value if you are offering affiliate products. I have a site that had affiliate links but got accepted without me removing any affiliate links. I would, therefore, have more informational content and less affiliate focused content.
  • There are also some content restrictions that you need to be aware of before you apply to join AdSense. Most Google advertisers don’t want their ads served on sites dealing with the following topics which you need to avoid too.
  1. Adult material.
  2. Shocking content. Content that contains blood, accidents, violence, or some disgusting stuff is a no-no.
  3. Explosives. Make sure that your site does not contain stuff promoting explosives or teaching how to make explosives.
  4. Guns, gun parts, and related products.
  5. Tobacco.
  6. Recreational drugs.
  7. Alcohol.
  8. Online gambling.
  9. Prescription drugs.
